Among the standard early April batting difficulties (see Glos), a couple of batting highlights have been Chef doing what Chef does and Josh de Caires making his maiden first class 50.

If the latter is half the player that his dad was, he's a real prospect

All the breaks for rain have stretched things out but it's now 126-3

OHD taking Patel(75) and Amla(2). Probably slightly advantage to the Bears now.

Not sure if mentioned on here but seems like we are liberating the bear from its muzzle and chains on the badge. Not before time, to be honest. Not sure if it will still be used by Warwickshire Council on road signs, etc.

Haven't seen that, the website, twitter, etc all still has it right now, and I think it's still there on the kit as well.

On the game, 196-4
Foakes* 19
Smith* 0

Pope gone this morning for 58 after looking very dangerous.

OHD with 3 of the 4 wickets is a bit worrying as we don't look very dangerous right now, could really do with Woakes, Stone and Norwell being available.

Ogh, that still looks like a muzzle to me (or maybe a face mask?) that's why I didn't spot the change.

I'm confused, so they aren't changing the badge? "Unmuzzled" is a mental health scheme?

Bears on to 192-4 with a massive century from Lamb and a half centrury from Hain as a 150 partnership.

Can't imagine they'll bother playing much longer.

Worcestershire somehow fail to win against Leicestershire despite bowling plenty of overs at the last man in.  Fair play to Leicestershire for scraping a draw.

From 41-4 to 531 all out is a fantastic batting performance from the middle/lower order.

Disappointing not to get that last wicket but overall a much better performance than expected.  Much more hopeful for the red ball season

Am I imagining things? I remember distinctly that when Brian Lara joined Warwicks he was greeted by a note on his locker from Roger Twose saying something like “Welcome to the second best left-hander in the club”.

I recall reading that back in the day.
