Azeem Rafiq has now apologised for historical anti-semitic tweets. Blimey, what a mess.

Has there been any follow up on the Ballance drug-test allegation made by Rafiq ?

To me, that kind of cover-up seems unlikely.

I’m surprised that it has taken this long for the dirt to start coming out.

The Rafiq tweets in a weird way prove his point - there’s just a lack of understanding/empathy when you’re on the outside. That’s a major part of the cultural problem.

One difference; Rafiq apologised for his wrongdoing immediately. Yorkshire and the ECB took over fourteen months!

Yeah, Rafiq's apology was absolutely textbook. Respond swiftly, make no excuses, give a reason for having those views at the time and why you no longer have them, apologise for what you said and not for 'any offence caused'.

When it comes to empty words, everybody has said something stupid at one time or another. I like to think a sincere, genuine apology will still be recognised and accepted by most people.

Yes, a proper apology, not corporate bullsh*t.

Yep agreed people make mistakes and if they are genuinely apologetic and demonstrate they have grown then they should be afforded a second chance.

Very disappointed to see that 'Pop' Welch has left Bears to take up a position at Hampshire.

Nothing sinister apparently just fancied a new challenge.

'Former England seamers Ryan Sidebottom and Steve Harmison have joined Yorkshire's coaching staff on an interim basis to work under director of cricket Darren Gough.' - from the BBC

I can't see that going well.

Get AD back in! Agree though, why has Welch gone with the team on the cusp of greater things?
