I thought it was interesting to read that it seems changes are on the way at Edgbaston .Farbrace is reported as not being at all happy with the jobs for the old boys setup as it is at the moment.I did not realise that all our coaches are made up by ex players Troughton,Frost,Westwood and Welch .There is talk of David Saker the ex England coach joining

I can understand why he’d think that, it’s been jobs for the boys probably since Inverarity and how long ago was that? David Saker would be good but Pop Welch has none nothing wrong and the bowling isn’t really the problem at Edgbaston, it’s the brittle batting in red ball cricket that’s the problem.

That is interesting to hear.

There used to be a Warwickshire fans forum (think it was bearsfans.co.uk) - does anyone know what happened to it?

The Bears forum just disappeared, I've no idea why.

The rumours about Farbrace not being happy with the behind the scenes set up  seem to have been true and i am not surprised to see Troughton has got the bullet.I would not be surprised to see Ian Bell added to the set up

There were clear problems this summer but I also think there's enough promise in the younger players that it won't take a huge effort to get things on a better track for next year. Part of the problem is that the 2 best bowlers were missing all summer, it's great that England are interested but it didn't help the bears in a shortened season and an extended international schedule which ran through it almost completely.

Young Dan Mousley put pen to paper and has signed a 3 year extension to his contract.

He most definetly is one of us. Remember when the Luke 3rd kit was released i was wearing it the day i travelled over to Grace Rd for county game and a very young
Dan was fielding for us as 12th man. I gathered with a load of other 'old' bears fans at lunch for a pint and none of us knew who he was.
At lunch he was making his way back to dressing room after eating...none of the others dared ask who he was so it was a case of
'Oii mate....who r u'
He answered obviously but all he wanted to talk about was the new shirt.....a lovely young lad. I certainly will take great interest in following his career.
If he's half the player Belly was then we have a good un!!!

That could turn out to be an astute decision by Farbrace, Robinson had a fantastic record at Sussex and won plenty of trophies.

Yeah he looked decent last year and left arm spinners are rare enough that any of them that do ok are worth a longer look.
