I said before that he’s at best a back up footballer. And that’s when he is fully fit. Throwing him into a fast paced game vs a very desperate Man City…well it turned out as it did. But in truth he’s not the only squad player we have in midfield right now. With the exception of Ramsey who will get better they all are.

And when he’s got a lot better, Citeh will sign him.

If the score went the same way and we hadn’t of made this substitution we would have said why didn’t we shut up shop and put Nakamba on.
Well that didn’t happen and we’ll never know…it’s pointless talking ifs, buts and maybes when it comes to football, but what we do know is that we turned to shit and conceded 3 goals in the process when he brought him on. Nakamba couldn’t shut a corner shop.

A player like Nakamba wouldn’t ever be on a top teams radar.

It was a very logical sub to make. 2 up with twenty minutes left is a very strong position to be and pretty much every manager would've put on a DM for an attacking player to condense space.

Nakamba tries hard but I was a bit bemused by all this fawning about him during his injury like he was the second coming of Kante. He had some good games at start of Gerrard's reign but that's a very small sample size considering he's been here three years.

Think bigger error was not putting Sanson on at same time as his energy would've been very useful to get around the pitch but he obviously has no future here now.

Nakamba only has 12 months left so we will probably let him go otherwise he just blocks Tim's progress.

Ramsey, presumably.

As I said in another thread, the likes of Nakamba were brought in after promotion to help us stay up and consolidate. We have now established ourselves and players like him should be moved on.

I actually didn't realise he was 28, I had him down for about 25-26.

Yeh. I misread that. Let’s hope we can build a complete side to keep our best over the next few years. Then again we’ve always said that and still not managed it.

Didn't realise he only had 12 months left, I'd agree he'll be leaving in the summer then. I guess he hasn't been offered a new one? I can see Gerrard having a bit of a clear out in the midfield department. I think Luiz and Sanson will be off too. Hopefully this will give some of the younger players like Chuck more game time.

No release clause that I'm aware of, so we should soak the tw*ts for £200m this time.

The athletic seemed to suggest that Nakamaba is one that can be moved on. Looking to raise funds or release some wages.
Guilbert, El Ghazi, Traoré also surplus.
Sanson out too if Villa did bring in another midfielder.

SG 6 months analysis of Marvelous means his time is up!

Well we've got Kamara who can do the same job but actually play football, plus Iroegbunam as back up.
