Marv is shite. Someone has to be truly honest and say it like it is.
THere is some shittery about him but I think he will come good. At the moment the team has over-relied on him somewhat: DD's arrival should allow him to learn and also be taken out of the firing line.

He's 26 in a week, he's not a youngster in footballing terms. For me he showed enough early on to think he can do ok, but him and Luiz together doesn't seem to be working that well.

It's not working at all well, which is why they were pretty much being rotated when McGinn was fit.  I expect Nakamba will be the one dropped tomorrow for Drinkwater.

Luiz is a box-to-box player, not a MF enforcer. Both he and Nakamba have been error-prone and will probably not become more reliable until they've had a full 12 months around a Premier League club.

It was an obvious flaw in the summer's squad-building strategy not to mix the Premier-League newbies with some more experienced players. Probably should have kept Whelan for another 12 months, for example.

Whelan got released from Hearts recently, so I highly doubt he could have had any impact in the PL.

Shouldn’t take a whole 12 months to bed in.

Eh we signed him in January 2019 then?

He looked neat and tidy early on without ever wowing me. Too easy for players to break past him was a concern and now his passing has completely gone to pot.

In an ideal world 4-5 games out to refocus. Mings had to miss that amount through injury and he's come back like his old self so players sometimes need that time out to get going again.

AVH87 seemed to suggest they needed 12 months

Excellent tonight. Needs to maintain these levels now through to the end of the season. Not sure what happened to him in the middle of the season but that was the player we were seeing earlier in the season.

Why you would play 2 in the centre when 1 is trying to get up to speed, I don't know. It's just as well Nakamba did play so well and then the Luiz substitution improved us. I would rather we played 3-5-2 and be stronger in the centre than playing 3-4-3.

Best game for weeks. I thought their 3 big strong center mids would dominate but Nakamba was easily the pick of them.

More like the Nakamba from earlier in the season. If we can get a few of them back to form we'll be fine.

I think he's been OK, I just think we need the right partner along side him. Breaks play up, makes mostly simple passes to the nearest bloke. Better at it than NRC ever was, not quite as good as Gueye was, but certainly better than Carlos bloody Sanchez

Woeful player. Really don’t know what any one can see if him because he’s struggling to be a footballer of any outstanding qualities. A complete liability of the pitch most of the time, and one of the reasons why our midfield is so piss poor and defence concedes so many shots.
