Amazing somewhere else someone is arguing he goes down as one of our worst ever value signings!

Dosen't seem to realise 7m is chicken feed in prem terms nowadays. Spurs signed a CB for 42m three years ago who isn't very good and Everton have signed three CBs for 25m or over since 2017.

Hause, Engels and Konsa combined for what we signed them for just about adds up to 25m I think.

Seems an odd Burnley style mentality where some fans seem to think 7m is big money and will criticise the club if it dosen't work out and players gets sold on for a loss, it isn't in 2021. Fair enough to criticise if too many of our 20m + signings don't work out but 7-10m is just squad player value these days and if they turn out any better than that it's a bargain.

And the same can be said about AEG or Trez. Between them for what we paid they’ve done more than a solid job in getting us up (AEG), keeping us up and getting us to where we are now. They have paid back their fee and wages many times over.

Amazing because Stephen Ireland was valued at £8M when he joined and left for nothing after contributing little despite somehow winning a player of the season award.
