That’s a “great” list I am struggling to add to it but we must’ve have missed an obvious one?
I wouldn’t take too much notice about the original comment re Engels the poster talks a lot of shite to get attention.

One of the strangest Villa careers of recent times.  Looked good until completely falling apart in that awful home defeat against Southampton.  Came back in against Spurs and did OK before a howler right at the end.  Came back in against Man City in the League Cup final and did well and was then never seen again.
And nearly scored the equaliser.

I'm not sure Engels qualifies as a bad signing either by money spent or by just being crap really.  A decent punt on someone who could have made the grade based on his career up to that point,, didn't work out, manager obviously didn't fancy him at the end. If Smith ends his time at Villa with just the likes of Engels and Samatta in the negative column, he'll have done well I reckon.

Agreed SB, I think Engels did enough in the early part of the season to just about say he played his part in us staying up.

Bjorn is married to a Liverpool lass and I regularly used to chat with her cousin who lives in Formby - however since Bjorn vanished from the squad so has the guy I used to chat with - he did tell me previously that he was happy at the club - so exactly what happened I may never establish :(
