Yes he really got bombed out after that mistake when Son scored.

Obviously Smith didn't rate him either.

£2.5 million according to Fotmob, so better than nothing.

Let's hope he will be Bjorn again at his next club.

Quiz question. Name the other three players who have been on the books of both Villa and Antwerp. One is current, one had six games on loan, and the other had a loan spell but didn't play.

Tom Heaton was on loan from Utd when he was 20ish bit didn't play a single game. I played a reserve game against him and I was in the opposite goal. It's fair to say our careers went opposite ways.

The other one's Phil Bardsley who played a few games for them around that time.

Now that’s a more informed response than we might have imagined - I never knew that about you Seb!

One of the strangest Villa careers of recent times.  Looked good until completely falling apart in that awful home defeat against Southampton.  Came back in against Spurs and did OK before a howler right at the end.  Came back in against Man City in the League Cup final and did well and was then never seen again.

£4.5m loss then, peanuts for our owners

Always liked Engels  but i thought he lacked pace and was behind Hause as well as Konsa and Mings  so probably best for all for him to move on

I remember reading a piece about the fastest players in the league and he featured based on a sprint he’d produced in a game, I can’t recall which one. Pretty difficult to reconcile with what we saw on the pitch and the memory of people like Shane Long whizzing past him at will.

Shame it didn’t work out as I thought he looked pretty solid overall. Guess we’ll soon find out why he fell out with Dean.

Edit. Found it. https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/revealed-six-fastest-players-premier-league

Really? We were conceding two goals almost every time he was on the pitch.

The last time he was seen we had just lost 10 consecutive matches. He departs the club with an awful 12 defeats and 32 goals conceded in 17 appearances.

Yes he really got bombed out after that mistake when Son scored.

Obviously Smith didn't rate him either.

It was more what happened around that xmas, Southampton game where Shane Long had his annual game of the season v us and exposed him and Hause suddenly leapfrogged him in pecking order.

Bjorn actually started the cup final two weeks after the Spurs game so he wasn't completely exiled until lockdown.

Frustrating as I thought he showed great potential in first 10 games he played, looked to have air of Mellberg to him with his anticipation but then errors started to creep into his game. Pretty sure DS wanted to sign him for Brentford aswell when he was there.

Ultimately though he hasn't played for over a year now and with two years left on his deal we can't be waiting for years for players to get going again so makes sense to get something and try to find another Konsa type who can do well when given a chance.

Liked him, seemed good at first, nearly gave us that moment at Wembley. But Southampton at home pre Xmas 2019 sticks in my mind, just got burned by Shane Long I think and looked like he was running in in mud, so slow. I don’t think he ever really recovered or had a decent run in the team after that.
Goodbye and good luck.

He was just too slow on the turn. Given the risk in our play, even post lockdown when we learnt how to defend, we need mobile centre halves.
