I guess he is the alternative to Webster and will be first choice alongside mings

Hause is understudy to mings

Konsa deputy to engels

Chester? Well who knows. But I doubt we buy 4 centre backs if Smith envisages him as a mainstay for the season

Didn't realise he played for Club Brugge, smart move to help Wesley settle in.

He should have been included in Belgium's Euro 16 squad based on performances but didn't get selected. Signed for Olympiakos, lost his way a bit after the manager got sacked and joined Rennes last year in a surprise move. Apparently he had a very strong season there.

He's definitely not a Championship player, couldn't believe my eyes last year when Brentford were poised to sign him.

A spectre is haunting the Premier League, the spectre of Aston Villa reborn. Footballers of all countries unite, you have nothing to lose but your matches against Aston Villa.

Will he be an imediate first-choice? Or will they give him a few weeks to get tuned in? - I'd have thought he will be subb for the first few games.

... I suppose we actually need to confirm the signing first!

He sounds less like Vincent Kompany and more like an ABBA tribute act.

His club's president has confirmed his departure apparently.
