He played well, I just wish we could see him further forward, but needs must at the moment I guess. He’s a sound player where he’s playing, but in the eight role he becomes an excellent player.

I said the same during the game. Play him a little further forward and we might not miss Tieliemans as much.

Probably hamstrung by Cash being injured which didn’t allow us to play Bogarde in the middle but I’m sure there would have been a few criticisms if we started Onana and Bogarde in midfield at home to Brighton.

I thought he played pretty well, in what was a battle of a game tonight. He ran himself into the ground and was always looking to get on the ball.

I think he needs to concentrate on doing the basics right, before trying standing foot and no-look passes. He’s a good midfielder but he’s no Tielemans. We miss him massively.

Would like to see him take a bit of responsibility on and take a few shots too. Take the ball off Onana. I still think he's done well for us so far. Bit of a breather at weekend, let Barkley start and he can lift it off the bench.

Given his lack of competitive game time elsewhere and him being parachuted into a decimated midfield here, his done well. Feels like he’s trying to cover a couple of roles right now so we’re not quite seeing the best of him, yet.

I thought Douglas played very well given his playing history over the past couple of years. He was trying to be at the centre of pretty much everything we did - yes he definitely tired in the 2nd half but I thought he was still a 7/10.

Don't forget Dougie is still trying to erase Dyche's crude long ball tactics out of his system! I thought he did well considering his lack of match fitness. I thought Brighton left their foot in on several challenges, especially Hinshelwood - serves him right with his deflection on Tyrone's header!

Really hope we keep him, he's solid, keeps the ball well, does the short passes well. Youri has that killer pass in him, when he looks up, that Dougie doesn't seem to have atm. But we've seen him do it before. I still recall the ball he put through for Jack away at Brighton a few years back.

I think Tielemans is one of if not the best midfielders in the league. I think there’s a lot in it quality-wise. They’re also completely different players. Everything is much slower with Dougie.

Yeah but I’d argue Dougie at his best was one of the best midfielders in the league - now clearly he’s not at that level currently. But he has the potential to be much more than he’s shown.

We definitely miss Tielemans, and of course Kamara and SJM, but if you imagine us without Dougie as well right now, well… it doesn’t bear thinking about. He’s come back in giving it everything he’s got and being a bit of a leader out there.
