******
There aren't enough asterisks to communicate how I feel about that particular player.

...living the life of Riley after selling his Maradona shirt for over £7M....the numpty

would he pay tax on that ?
...tbh I've never been lucky enough to be given something for nothing, then sell it for over £7M, so wouldn't know lol. Maradona gave his Hodge shirt to the shit house cleaner after the game who used it as a mop for 20 years.

Tielemans injury necessitates this but no doubt it's a big downgrade.

Let’s be positive.
That season before he left and up until January of the year he left, he was superb.
Goals, assists, tackles and some great passing.

Of course it’s a massive blow to lose a Rolls Royce like Youri, but I remember us calling Dougie the same when he was really on it.

If he comes back, he knows what to expect from Unai and his demands. He knows what’s expected of him, and if he really did miss the club like he said, he has had his dreams answered, probably unexpectedly.

I want to believe he will be a massive success and I’m looking forward to seeing him purring in our midfield again.

You don't have to look at it. Just move on. But most of the journalists that you rely on for updates use it. And you can't copy and paste a video from there. So if it's not something you like ignore it.

It's so interesting, because I think the Juventus thing did have an allure for him as well, but it was clear that he loved his time with us (I think there was some Twitch or Instagram or Distopion or Hellbook video he did where he made it clear he thought of us as his real club). I never quite believed all that stuff about him wanting to go - it struck me as after the fact justification for the PSR stuff that meant he was forced to.

I really hope it works out for him, as we're always moaning that players in the modern age don't have the connections to their clubs that they used to, and one thing I love about this Villa team - from Digne to Onana, from Cash to Mings via Konsa and Buendia - is that they really seem like they love being here, and Doug was always one of them in this regard.

He never seemed happy while over there and certainly not at Forest. Maybe there was also a bit of him that has matured. That he knows through his own experiences what is best. We all go through that. Both him and Tammy will love the current Villa. Emery has created an incredible culture.

He obviously has great affection for the club and if he can find his best he’s an excellent player - hope he does.

Yeah that maturity thing is always very underrated when it comes to footballers. We expect them to have the vigour of athletes and the wisdom of archbishops, and that's obviously quite unfair.

Notwithstanding, of course, all the archbishops who are morons.

Mings, McGinn and Rogers exchanging messages about the captain’s armband is great.  illustrates Monty’s point perfectly (and funny too).
