Fucks sake, the nonce website again. Any copy paste available?
Interview here with David Ornstein on Doug being fixated on coming back to us. https://x.com/skysportspl/status/2016224693951275413?s=46

I never quite believed all that stuff about him wanting to go - it struck me as after the fact justification for the PSR stuff that meant he was forced to.I really hope it works out for him, as we're always moaning that players in the modern age don't have the connections to their clubs that they used to, and one thing I love about this Villa team - from Digne to Onana, from Cash to Mings via Konsa and Buendia - is that they really seem like they love being here, and Doug was always one of them in this regard.

Maybe there was also a bit of him that has matured you know through experiences what is best. We all go through that. Both him and Tammy will love the current Villa. Emery has created an incredible culture.
