There’s a lot of blasé attitude on here to Dougie leaving

He’s going to be a massive miss
I remember seeing him make his debut at Tottenham and thought he looked a class act five years on and I still think he is absolute class, our best midfielder with McGinn over the last five years

I don’t know what our overall transfer targets we will get in the end but anyone thinking we can replace a high performer like Doug with McKinnie and the likes of Berkeley are seriously deluded

Losing Doug weakens are midfield simple as that

Feel disappointed that Luiz didn't want to be part of a CL campaign with us. And he's always said good things about Unai and the Villa. Really thought he loved it here.

Likewise, he's been one of my favourite players since promotion and at times hit heights rarely seen, he'll be a massive loss. But if he wants to go, as seems likely, and its not because of the usual reasons we lose quality players, then so be it. We cant really do more it seems.

I'm going to take some convincing that this guy is worthy of being part of the swap deal. Geezus - If a picture doesn't tell a thousand words! 😯

What is it telling you?

FFS. He looks like he's being played by Eddie Murphy in a fat suit.

What is it telling you?

That he looks far from fit enough to cut it in the Premier League and be a suitable stand-in for Kamara. We'd be better off with the money, than the scraps out of Juve's pocket.

His head was turned by Arsenal links and he obviously thinks that making it known that he wants to leave would encourage Arsenal but I don't think that's happening.

Barkley and McKennie are good players in their own right and would add to the squad but yeah - lose Doug and we're still a top midfielder short.

You're judging that he's not fit enough by one picture?

His home debut summed him up, dropped a major bollock on the edge of our box to gift Bournemouth a goal.
Scored a lovely consolation goal late on. We really dont miss him as much as some think when hes out, slows the play down far too much . We have a squad that can handle him going.

Jilted lover vibes are strong over last 10 pages! Might mellow later in the summer. Luiz is a magical footballer at his best that struggled for about 6 weeks at the end of last season. Tielemans was piss poor until well after Xmas but most conveniently forget that. McGinn struggled for a while too, getting moved from position to position, impacted his form. Kamara had a handful of stinkers. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Comparing him to a guy like Barkley who pissed away most of his career at the top level is laughable.

The suggestion being that Doug didn’t sign a new deal as his agent was trying to get him a move to Barcelona that didn’t pan out. He ends up at Juventus instead.

Yeah, or just another club in general. The Arsenal rumours were still flying around in January. I know we won as much as they did this season, but they're one of the few English teams I could see one of ours mistakingly thinking was still a bigger team.

I know historically Juve are a big and successful team so it's not like he's shot for Barca and ended up at Milwall. But it still seems like an odd choice of destination when we're on the brink of something big and he played a big part in getting us there. But who knows, maybe he's always wanted to play for them.

Wasn't Tubbs McKennie the best and most hardworking midfielder on the pitch?

I was in Flrodia last week and they're having a heatwave. Doing a few outdoor Tabatas and you were sweating absolute cobs, so it's not easy to get up and down the park when it's 95+.

Nothing like drawing a ludicrous conclusion from basically no evidence.

The irony is that he was miles better than Luiz, who barely got a touch, according to thee North American based folks who actually watched the game.
