He’s not been the same since his hair started growing. It’s almost a reverse Samson effect.
At times he came so deep last night that he was in line with the back four…and that’s when we were in possession passing out from the back. There’s no way one of our 2 central midfielders should be dropping so deep to effectively become a 3rd CB…

I wondered why we didn't do what we did to Newcastle last season where the full backs pushed forward & we chipped balls over the pressing front players to them, which bypassed their whole front line.
He looked crushed last night. It wasn’t one of his better nights and I’m sure he feels he let the entire club down. I fully expect him to be very good at the weekend and next week. Douglas Luiz is a superb player. He will bounce back and show it.

With those tactics, Kamara could come across and cover for either of the full backs who are forward, when either of them tired from all the work up and down the flank, we don't have replacements on the bench. And at least part of the success of that game was that we were going long to McGinn to hold up right on their back line, we cant do that either as he's having to fill in in DM.We are just seeing the inevitable I'm afraid, a lack of tactical options to to injuries. Might we have blooded youngsters to give us more options. I think so.
Needs dropping.

He's been out of form for weeks, and the last two games against Chelsea and Olympiacos he's been very poor. You can't just keep hoping he'll play himself into form. Play Tim, he came on and looked decent enough last night, or put Tielemans next to McGinn if Youri is fit. Luiz is an excellent player and we wouldn't be where we are without him, but he's been costing us results recently, so he needs a game or two out of the side, whether that's to get his fitness or head right, or both.
