If you'd read my post properly you'd have seen the words "very good player" . In my opinion some of the fawning over him "one of the finest midfielders in the world" is ridiculously OTT and my point was if he played for Spurs nobody would bracket him with such elite levels.

I know what you said because I have been able to read since I was about 5 years old.

You said, & I will quote you quoting yourself, that he is a "very good player".

You also said, & again, I quote you, that we would be "slating him if he played for Spurs".

You also said that, & again, quoting your comments because I can read, that "Tielemans is on another level to Luiz though . Luiz needs to learn from YT and try and reach his levels ."

The last is so ridiculous that I had to chime in.

So not quite the ringing endorsement you made your comments out to be when you questioned my ability to read words "properly".

I am taking the entirety of your words & understanding that you don't rate him as highly as others do because he doesn't play for Spurs, that he needs slating, & that he isn't as good as Youri Tielemans.

If you had read what I had written properly, you will see that I admit that I have criticised him when he deserved it, even when he didn't play for Spurs, but have changed my opinion on him as a player as his positive performances warranted. Which has been elite level.

I am giving him a little leeway for his current poor form due to his previous excellent form, but more importantly, because he is playing out of position since Kamara got injured. And hasn't he been one of the players who has been a regular more often than not over the whole season, including Europe?

All of the above is the simple reason for his current poorer form than earlier in the season..

But thats the difference between ability & form...

Fill-yer-boots?

Obviously, this is some people's chosen way.
I'm wondering if I could entice you to be more constructive, as I'm thinking a Villa dream, superstitions, and synchronicity thread could be something that uses your minds for a greater purpose than this low-brow stuff.
Basically, focus energy on talking about superstitions you have or have had, dreams, and that sort of thing.

I think that would help reduce innuendo and lewd language.
I's also quite nice to have a discussion on how connected thoughts are to Villa and the descriptive focus and language geared towards Villa and dreams, not to this bawdy stuff that is supposed humour .

Let's be a bit more insight shall we?

Respectfully of course people can post what they want if they insist and if they feel necessary but the specific thing is regards Aston villa dreams and superstitions not a romantic or erotic fantasy!

Tim

I disagree with you as well.  I think he's our best outfield player and with the right players around him simply outstanding.

I've been surprised how many people have under valued Doug's contribution over the years, but now he's one of the most proficient DM / CM's in the league it's really odd that you're still picking faults.

Appreciate not everyone will agree with my analysis and certainly Ollie now looks irreplaceable, but if I could only keep 3 players from the current team he would be one of them.

I'm not picking faults as such. I said he's a very good player, up there with McGinn. Is an on-form Tielemans better, Yes for me. Is he one of the world's finest, No.

I think he has the highest ceiling of all our midfielders.  Because he can do everything to a “7/10” standard means he’s often shifted to DCM.

DCM is a more specialist position so having an all-rounder there is arguably a waste.

You don't need to remind me of anything.

I have stated my views quite publicly regarding the quality of Douglas Luiz both pre & post-Emery.

What some people fail to realise is that not everybody thinks the way they do & that some of us can think one thing about a player at one point, but when the evidence in front of our eyes changes, we can amend our opinions. Both positive & negative.

And no matter what club the player is contracted to.

But then again, when all some people are interested in is stirring the pot, then ignoring the bulk of responses, so that they can stir the pot again, its no wonder they never learn anything other than negativity.

Respectfully of course people can post what they want if they insist and if they feel necessary but the specific thing is regards Aston villa dreams and superstitions not a romantic or erotic fantasy!

Pre Emery he was a 5/6 out of 10 performer.
Post Emery he has become a 7/8 out of 10 performer  with some  9+ Thrown in.
Recently he has regressed probably down to the disruption in our midfield.

Agreed 100% Mr Lion, I posted some months back that 'Luiz and Kamara' were the best midfield combination in the whole league.

Luiz is not as effective without him but still a class player.
