Well done Dougie, very deserved. Had to him or Mings, both very worthy of it.

Dougie is performing very admirably, and he's a contender for my player of the season award.  After his free kick goal that means he’s scored five goals this season, having previously scored a total of five goals in three Premier League seasons!
That statistic was made all by myself.

As I suspected player of the year. I voted for him.
And I get accused of completely crazy ideas!

You might get the odd thing wrong but it's important to remember, "Human foresight will never be 20:20."

Sorry, I just don't see it.

It’s stunning insight and foresight to predict Douglas Luiz, an almost ever present under Emery would be a candidate for the player of the season. A prediction made merely 10 days ago not 10 months ago.

Well done Douglas. Always had my doubts but the right manager has him playing really well.

Emery can build the side around Doug. He's becoming the player we hoped he would.

Our entire midfield cost around £20m. That’s quite astonishing

He always had the ability but his application was inconsistent. A rolls royce of a PL midfielder these days and will improve further.

I’d sell him. That black shirt look at the awards dinner was unforgivable.

Always really rated Dougie, so really pleased he’s starting to play to his potential now.

There's a photo of him with Coutinho and Carlos. Carlos is the only one with a sense of style.

Coutinho seems to be wearing some sort of plastic strap across his chest.

It's probably a medical device preventing his torso from imploding.
