I think he'll stay, but it wasn't like he turned Arsenal down to stay, the club rejected every Arsenal bid.

He didn't have to sign a contract though. He could have seen his contract out and left on a free...if he had so wished. And it would be a fair assumption for him to make that Arsenal would still be interested then.

Correct, but he can ask the club to increase his wages for the next X years on the condition that a release clause of, dunno, £25m is included.  Both parties win as we are guaranteed £25m (better than a free) and the player gets the bump in wages immediately and an easy exit if he fancies it.

What is undeniably obvious is that Dougie is reacting positively to Emerys directions. More so he understand him than with Gerrard.  Also hes shown greater consistency than under Smith who embraced the lock down lectures and meetings unlike Gilbert.
Luiz is just going to become better and better, and he's on the verge of being a world-class midfielder who can run games if he continues improving.

Who is Gilbert?
He put in one of the best and worst performances both against Leicester City under Dean Smith.
Ironically, the beloved Deano manages Leicester City now.

Voted as the Players' Player of the Year.
I doubted him earlier in the season, but I think we now know that had more to do with Gerrard than Luiz. Fair play Douglas :)

Dougie is performing very admirably, and he's a contender for my player of the season award.  After his free kick goal that means he’s scored five goals this season, having previously scored a total of five goals in three Premier League seasons!
That statistic was made all by myself.
As I suspected player of the year. I voted for him.
And I get accused of completely crazy ideas!

Having an opinion on one thing (that a 5th of the forum agree with) doesn't mean that your other misunderstandings of correlation and causation are automatically redeemed.
