I don’t think we can lose him and Chuck this summer. If Luiz stays and gets game time further forward, we may see a different player.

Or he's saying farewell?

Is it captioned "It's not you, it's me"?

apparently Dougie is posting pics of himself on IG with the label Villa❤️

People guessing he’s staying/signing a new contract ?

I can't see any of these

I hope it’s farewell. No tangible signs of improvement over the last few years. Effort and commitment never in doubt mind.

I think he’s a talented player, but he’s not a defensive mid. I’d like to keep him if we can - he’s not old for a midfielder he can definitely develop.

I can see both sides to this one and it may just be that he's better suited to a league other than the PL. However as you say it's worth bearing in mind he's not that old e.g. he's younger than Keinan who we think of as still "developing".

He's one of our 4000 midfielders that would probably look a lot better playing further forward.

It's true though, none of the cnuts want to be stoppers apart from nice guy Marv.

I'm the Marv of any 7 a side game it seems, the only one that bothers to stay back and defend.

With Kamara and Marv, Dougie if he stays should be given free reign to get forward more. We know he can carry the ball, we know he can pass, and we know he can score goals given the chance.

... although he lacks the crucial turn of speed that gives good #8 and #10 their space to take a shot.

Apart from the fact this bloke is committing the same crime as Carney, but getting nowhere near the same flak. Is this true

“Since his debut, only Tyrone Mings has played more Premier League games for Aston Villa than Douglas Luiz”
