Question is, is he worth 30 million quid and a squad place for next season if you're Man City?

He is getting no where near that team on current form, he jumped out of a few challenges last night.

He's only 22.
We often forget that and I am not writing him off, he could emerge as a very good player for us.

Lovely dinked chip to play in Trezeguet in the first half. Jack would have been proud.

If you take our back 5 out of the equation, it would be a struggle to name anyone who is in form. It's become pointless to pick out individuals when so many are out of form. It's a shame we can't just end the season now and start doing our transfer business and giving the players a full pre-season in readiness to a season when the fans are let back in.

He's having a sticky spell currently.

Let's not just dismiss how good he was end of last season and first 3-4 months of this season in the role he's been playing.

Brazil think pretty highly of him and he'd have likely started their games again this month if they'd gone ahead so bit OTT to just dismiss regular Brazil international as not good enough.

We need to keep him.

Think issue currently is he dosen't quite have enough consistancy yet to be good for 30 + games in a season which is mainly down to age.

I agree, I really like him and think he’s going to be a very very good player and I would hope we can keep him. If we had a bigger squad he’d surely be rested a bit more. Nakamba has done very well in his place but he is a very different type of player.

He needs to play further forward. He is not big enough to play defensive central midfielder.

Douglas’s form will return, he’s young and it’s been a weird time. If he’s at the club next season I’ll be delighted.

He’s the one player I don’t mind having a dip in form. Man city may not activate his clause. As others have said, everyone bar our defense has been poor.

Agree with this; he'd be competing with Sanson, McGinn and Ramsey for a role further up the pitch.
Who would you bring in to be the more imposing defensive midfielder?

Wasn’t he bought in as a defensive midfielder?
I seem to recall reading on here how great it was to get a proper DM in.
