It's not bad having two players who can hit a ball as sweetly as they do, in Hourihane and Luiz, is it?

We have great competition, but think he is going to be a class act.

Its great finally having depth in midfield now, he'll end up playing more and more. Once he's fully up to speed, him and marvellous are gonna be a hell of a pairing.

I agree and the three above them will move as they wish. SJM and Jack for sure but think Trezuguet will compete with El Ghazi, but brilliant we have such talent

Luiz, Nakamba, McGinn with Hourihane alternating could be our midfield for years, I much prefer Jack further forward as in the last two games.

His goal today was fantastic again, just like his last one it's not smashed but rather just placed into the top corner. he made it look so easy that I think a lot of people haven't appreciated just how brilliant it is.

It was. If you see it in slo mo the GK is miles away, he never had a chance. Great strike

It was a goal of casual brilliance. A statement of 'I am good and I know it'. It was like somebody showing off in a training session. I like him.

Reminds me of when Lee Hendrie had that six week patch of scoring 3-4 goal of the month shots from 25 yards into top corner.

15 years ago to the month. Pearler against Palace at VP even if it was against the pyjama goalie; Highbury where he scores at the Clock End before running the length of the pitch to celebrate with the Villa fans (à la Savo at Blackburn in '95), an absolute pearler at Goodison and then a confident and classy finish in the rain against Fulham at home.

Didn’t their keeper drop his hand mid dive because he knew he was beat?

Agree with that Luke.  I think the 4-2-3-1 formation could really work for us going forward.  McGinn has been really good in a more advanced role in the last couple of games and I can see the midfield below really taking shape:

         Douglas        Nakamba

                      McGinn

Only just seen some of the highlights from today’s game (currently in Mexico), and another excellent goal today. Did he start the game or come on as sub?

Also don’t think it’s been mentioned, but when did Luiz have his dreads cut off?

It's something I'd like to see Jack do more of, technically.  The last few shots JG has had from outside the box, he's tried to smash the ball by striking through it to get more power and swerve.  He's so skilled and composed, I feel it'd be more effective to try and curl and place the ball ala Luiz.
