Very pleased this has been confirmed.
Sorry if it's already been asked and answered, but is his English ok?

There’s a club video/interview with him.  He doesn’t speak English by the looks of it.

If City activate the buyback clause, does it mean he has to go back there regardless of whether he wants to or not? You’d have to assume he probably would want to go back, as he’d likely be having a tilt at the champs league with City. But we might have a decent season and he may want to stay. What happens then?

We have no control.  City appear to think very highly of him so there’s a good chance that if he fulfills his potential, he will go back.

I’m hoping that we’ll get 2 seasons out of him as City hold all the cards and have no need to rush, unless he’s that good that he’s going to get into their side.

With a deal like this, the player's agreement to the potential future move is locked in at this stage.

So he's already agreed to the return move if it ever comes up.

He's only 21 years old and if he lives up to the hype (and his YouTube highlights) then he has a very good future in the game ahead of him. We've only managed to sign him due to the work permit issues for Man Citeh, and everything about the buy back clause is pure speculation at this stage...we may even be able to negotiate the buy back clause is removed. We'll just have to see how it pans out, enjoy his football and see what happens until or if any further details are released.

Very pleased this has been confirmed.

Doesn't speak a word of English by the looks of it, but having Wesley alongside him should help with any communication issues on and off the pitch.

How does that work regarding wages? Say he's amazing, wins PFA Player of the Year and gets called up by Brazil. We give him a wage increase to reflect his value. Then Man City sign him does he get to keep his pay increase or does he have to go back to the wages he left on?

Forgive the question as it has probably already been asked but, is he yet allowed to train with us? or is that also dependent on the work permit being issued?

Don’t think he can train. The Pravda said he was signed subject to work permit. If he was injured and then refused a work permit we could be in a difficult situation.

I’m impressed by all of our business this summer, but this is the signing that really excites me. Purely on reputation and clips clearly, but sounds like a potential superstar.

Same here, from what I’ve seen he looks a real step up from everything else we have.

Wouldn't be able to give you a definite answer to that I'm afraid.

If I had to guess, I'd assume that future increases would be written into what has been agreed now.

So something along the lines of "current Villa salary plus 40%" to allow for changes to his contract with us.

So if he's amazing and we give him £100k per week, they have to decide whether he's worth a further increase to that.

Ok for the terminally thick -  namely me

We have bought him off man city (so we own him) for £15m directly. If he turns out to be brilliant Man city can

A/ just say we want him now and pay the £15m we paid and he goes
B/ As A but with an alternate higher fee already agreed
C/ Other teams can try to buy him but Man city have first refusal.
D/ If he is not what we expect he is ours and Man city can refuse to take him.

Any of that right?

We don't know. Nobody does.

For all the talk about it on this thread, we do not know if the buy back clause exists and if so, at how much, or under what circumstances Man City could trigger it.
