Agreed. Plus we now have the nous to put a deal together - couldn't see previous regimes, stretching back to Doug/Steve Stride perhaps (when likely different rules applied) to construct a complicated deal to get him in.

This is an excellent point. We appear to have found a way to manipulate a problem for Man City into a solution for ourselves.

I have been scanning the internet every day for the past two weeks on this.
Absolutely delighted we have got this one over the line.
Douglas could prove to be our best signing of the summer.
We've taken advantage of Citeh and doesn't Guardiola hate it.
Someone posted earlier about our signings being brought in to complement our style, and non more so than this one.
By the end of the season Douglas won't want to leave as he will have realised he is already at the world's best club.
If we could just get in a quality goalkeeper and a small forward I think we will be a match for anyone.
Can't wait for it to all get started now.
