If Konsa is the problem then we really do have major issues, he has held the defence/team together over the last few months, I've lost count of the amount of times me and my lad have said "thank fuck for Konsa" over the season.

He's had a strong season to be fair but been poor in recent games. Both these things can be true. The failure of the two in front of him, Onana particularly, to provide any kind of defensive screen in front of him not helping matters.

Cash isn't fully fit either and that hasn't helped late on in recent games down that flank.

I watched bits of the full game today as I'd missed all the 'incedents' at the game.

Not only did he disgrace himself with his play acting, he then concedes a foul, which is not required as the ball ends in his net, played onside by Chiesa who had been distracted trying to call for VAR from the original twattery.

Lovely stuff.

I did enjoy the full Chiesa Italian arm waving after that goal yesterday when he stood there like the statue of David playing everyone onside. Fucking clown.

Also, Watkins chasing down Konate, conceding a free kick, then throwing Konate to the ground like he was chucking a chip wrapper away. Konate was understandably not happy at events, but Ollie just dismissively walks off unconcerned.

I loving all new Angry Ollie.

He’s strong as an ox lately.

Player of the season for me

Played whole season and has been brilliant. I'd have had Cash down for the accolade but he has had a bit of a downturn.

Kamara was strolling player of the season pre-injury.

Konsa had a very sticky spell too! Cash running on fumes last while for sure but has been very good. Nobody comes close to McGinn this season for me.

I think the injury was shit for SJM but the recuperation has been brilliant. Especially European games.

Kamara would have had for me - other one in the mix would be Torres.

Thought Torres form was very sticky in spells too. Finishing strongly for sure but he needs a particular setup to play to his strengths. Over 1k less minutes played than Konsa over the season. As much as we/I criticise Konsa or Rogers, they are the only two in squad that have played 4k + minutes this season (source transfermarkt). Sticky form spells maybe should be expected playing that many games. Both could have been dropped lately, Lindelof in particular was pushing Konsa hard for me, but they performed in the big games lately for Emery. Cash, Martinez and then Ollie are next, close to 4k minutes. Player availability is huge in a 50+ game season, Torres and Kamara miss too many games.

Konsa is a brilliant player. His determination and drive is impeccable too. He's similar to Ugo Ehiogu in my eyes, always seems second fiddle to a more senior partner, but excellent in his own right.

He's got car more ability on the ball than Ugo did. Also better in the air too, poor old Ugo had a right 50 pence head at corners.
