So that'll leave us with Cash, Carlos, Lenglet and Moreno as fully fit defenders. With Chambers, who the manager clearly didn't want too.

To be fair, considering it could be argued that it's our entire second choice defence - it's not too that bad. Obviously Man City aside, I bet there aren't many teams that have that much quality in their fifth to eighth choice defenders.

I've always thought Kamara could play as a centre back and I think there may be occasions Kamara could be considered at centre back with Iroegbunam in midfield.

To be fair that’s a better shout than putting Chambers back in.

From what I can gather, Kamara is only a fairly recent convert to midfield full-time. With their respective attributes, I'd say he's our best fit if you want to change Konsa like-for-like.

His only genuine challenger would be Rob Edwards, if Luton avoid relegation.

Aye, has to be the ex Villa man if they stay up.

Or even if they get close to staying up. Anyone at Citeh should be expected to win the league and then some with that level of financial doping.

Gary O'Neil should also be in the running again if the Tatters finish where they are currently.

Awful news coming at a critical time .

We've got Fulham, Forest and Luton in the league over next month.. we should be capable of beating them without Konsa.

Can't believe our bad luck this year.
Dangerous to underestimate teams like these, luton are full of goals and fighting like dogs, we've already lost to forest once and Fulham away is often a tough ground for us. The sooner Torres is back the better with Konsa out

I feel we're a bit closer to the "Grealish and Hourihane smash them 0-3" version of recent Fulham - Villa history than the "last days of the Gerrard Empire 3-0" version of recent Fulham - Villa history.

I tend to agree but down the years it's generally been an unhappy hunting ground which is a shame as it's a great away day .

Konsa might play one or two games before the international break, based on my calculations. It will be intriguing to watch what transpires there since, on a personal level, he wants to play so he can then feature in Southgate squad against Belgium and Brazil but he cannot afford to be pushed back into action.

how long is he out for?

4 weeks or so, isn't it? People hoping he'll be back for the Spurs game (with the usual Villa injury provisos).
