I'm in the minority but I don't like 'f**k the albion' or any other chant which repeats the name of the opposition loudly. I would rather our proud name be chanted - I don't know how it sounded on the TV but they obviously dampen the bad language so it gives a false representation.

I agree with this. It’s satisfying to sing but it just sounds like massive support for Albion to the neutral ear.

I think they sing ‘For the Albion’ so to them too, it’ll sound like they’ve taken over the whole ground!

I was kept in rapt amusement at Madrid airport earlier by SHA.

The winner, in my arrogant opinion:

"One thing to remember and cause you to feel warm inside - we will never be like them. Never have that repugnant sense of self worth and slimy arrogance.

I’m really proud to be Blues and love our passion, good humour and self deprecation. What is football about - is it about being loved by Sky and drooled over by sanctimonious tw@ts in a TV studio? I don’t want Andy Hinchcliffe or Don Goodman to like my club. I honestly couldn’t care what any media brainwashed ex-pro thinks. It’s all unconscious bias that they don’t even know they have.

That feeling of goosebumps when we are belting out KRO at some random away ground is worth so much more to me than them lot failing.

Even if they go up - they will still be Vile fans - that deep sense of insecurity and arrogance will be with them for life. They will never win the league again and that will always cause them to have huge existential angst and deeply embedded shame.

Don’t let them get you down - I’m off for a walk with the dog with a big smile on my face. Always proud to be a Blues fan."

I chuckled for ages at the sentence in bold.
how can you be insecure and arrogant at the same time? I can see how delusion and idiocy go hand in hand though.
robbo that's a bit harsh. SE is neither insecure nor arrogant.

Yes and it skirts too close to SOTV that them both spout 2 mins after kick off in any math they play and we love that.

I don't agree at all, it's not for the neutral ear anyway, it's to let that lot know we are their rivals and we don't like them much.

The fact that most of the ground was on its feet, and gesturing towards them, might have been a bit of a giveaway though. Even for the thickest of neutrals.

But we are not their rivals in any sporting sense at all. They just happen to be a an average football club near us.

SHA fans are the football equivalent of a stalker.  There are probably more Villa fans in Erdington, Kingstanding and Sutton alone than they get for their home games.

And for whining Albion fans:

Anywhere else on the pitch, or not already on a yellow,  and Gibbs gets a yellow for the challenge on Jack. I was angry at the time that the ref let him off lightly.

Not one of their players disputed the pen, they knew it was stonewall. And every pundit agreed.

Yes they maybe should have had a pen too, but Karma is a wonderful thing - They got points they didn't deserve against us and Forest by cheating and incompetent officials. Not so nice when it comes back to bite you on the arse is it?

I was watching on tv - the cameras were showing the pitch & the ‘swear word’ was unclear. It sounds like massive support for Albion - not just to neutrals - but to THEM.

I’d rather sing about us. We’ve actually got a reasonable collection of songs for the first time in years. Save ‘Fuck the Albion’ for social media.

It doesn’t really matter how it appears on the box though, it’s the atmosphere in the ground that counts and there was not one person there who was in any doubt what the song was about.

I had a bad feeeling yesterday and it wasn’t helped in the warm up. The Albion were pretty intense with drills and keep ball whilst we were just doing our own thing. They seemed much more intense than us.

Like many, I can’t believe how many big players had an average game. Most of our play was in front of their defence and our passing was slow and lacking zip. The goal was just an aberration from us and gave them something to protect, which they did well as they were very well organised. At half time I said to my nephew I would be relieved with a draw.

Credit to El Ghazi for running at them so much and well done Deano for the changes which could have come 5-10 minutes earlier. Hourahan helped drive us further forward and that gave Jack more space.

Ours was a stonewall penalty and they should have had one too for Tammy’s challenge - in the ground I didn’t think it was.

Gayle’s sending off was a bonus. I said to my nephew that he risked a second yellow for another slow throw, but I didn’t think it would be for a stupid foul. He unsettled our defence all game so I’m pleased he is missing on Tuesday.

Very good atmosphere overall, and the noisiest I think I have ever heard the North Stand. It was fantastic, although quiet for 20 minutes in first half after their goal. With all 4 sides of the ground roaring away Villa Park is a magical place. The Albion fans made a fair bit of noise in the first half, and I confirm they were not singing KRO but their favourite hymn.

The thoughts of Tipton

Take a peak at any of the threads on there if you fancy a laugh. Be it the threads where they played well or the threads where we had all the luck or the ones with their pedigree for making the Hawthorns intimidating (sniggers) because they beat Seansea 26 years ago.

It's wow. Absolute wow. Must be lead paint in Yam-Yam land.

Love the Tammy interview when he responds to the "your last game at villa park " with the line "i don't wanna say its my last game ".... he may not be here next season but you cant fault the guys commitment to the cause
