The atmosphere yesterday was the best I have seen in years. Great atmosphere outside beforehand.

It was very, very good. I was concerned beforehand that we were losing an advantage by playing at home in an early kick off, as Villa Park with a late kick off is a wonderful place. I feared the atmosphere may be slightly subdued. I’m glad to be proven wrong.

I think the atmosphere has been amazing in parts for the past 5 or 6 home games.  The crowd fell silent after WBA scored which played into their hands a little bit and allowed the Albion fans to make themselves heard.

I really rate Dwight Gayle and think he was part of the reason why Mings didn't have his best game yesterday.  It is no coincidence that he was up against his most difficult opponent since joining in January.  I would be quite open to seeing Gale playing in a Dean Smith side and wouldn't be upset if we signed him next season, regardless of division.

First time i've got back on here since yesterday - i thought the Albion payed the price for parking the bus and time wasting yesterday. They werent particularly very ambitious in the second half and once we finally took the lead it was never in doubt. They did defend very well in numbers but we had the momentum after the Conor goal and obviously Gayle's sending off was a god send, particularly as he misses the second leg. As for their "penalty"... it was a penalty i think but to be fair the decision evened out the Rodriguez goal in December. Onwards and upwards, Villa!

As much as a cock players like Maupay and Gayle are they are perfectly suited to the Championship. Quick and sharp I’d take both if we stay down and likely lose Tammy. That said if we go up there are much better players out there and we would need them.

I wouldn't want Maupay or Gayle if we go up and I'd be very unsure of the latter if we don't. He's 28 and would be at a fee that he'll never be worth again, he's exactly the sort of signing that has caused us to be in the shit over the last decade. I'd consider him on loan but I'd rather we make permanent signings if we can.
