Everyone can we get some more posts on here quick.  We are in danger of having less posts than the Match thread over on SHA.
Ok. I also thought we got a bit lucky with the sending off and the Tammy penalty incident but considering their cheating delaying tactics all game, they got what they deserved. Come on Villa. I can watch the cricket and tonight's game a little easier now.

It was a penalty we didn’t play well but we have done half of the job roll on Tuesday

Is that the first win against a top 5 side this season? A good time to get it if so.

Well we’ve beaten ourselves plenty of times, but first against a top 4 side!

Gayle went in with both feet off the ground, had to be a yellow.

Quite right.  If he was going in to nick the ball, he would have gone in one-footed.  As it was, he knew he couldn't it and so went in two-footed to try and intimidate Steer.  There wasn't a great deal of contact but there was no attempt to get the ball.  Add this to the block on Grealish that should have been a booking and he left the ref. no choice.

Until we scored we were playing like Boro played in the first leg against us last year. Albion didn’t produce anything to suggest we should fear the second leg. They literally started time wasting in the first minute.

Hadn’t quite appreciated how far out Conor was for the goal until I saw the replay.

Penalty looked a nailed on one from the Lower Holte.

Some selection headaches for Deano ahead of Tuesday.  Conor was great when he came on, I think Albert's experience and work rate will earn him a start.  I don't normally like changing a winning team but mindful that we don't need to win on Tuesday, I would be tempted to swap Taylor for Hause.  Today was Taylor's worst game for some time and they also targeted him by playing high balls over to Philips.

Great win that I couldn't see coming on 70 minutes and naturally, FTA.

It was quite unbelievably stupid from Gayle in the second half.  Booked for time wasting, should have got a second yellow for a body check a few minutes later, and then with the final whistle looming he gets himself sent off for a pointless lunge at the goalkeeper, thereby significantly reducing his side's chances in the second leg.  Footballers never cease to amaze me at how brain dead they can be.

Hilarious!

Yes - utterly fucking stupid on his part.

Any chance of Gayle's red being over-turned?

It can't be, you can't appeal Yellow cards. The only way they can be overturned is if the fouled player is charged with diving and that doesn't apply in either case.
