No level of gym work can prepare for actual game sharpness. I would of thoughthe would be in the USA group.

Real shame he is not

I asked my mate if Ty was struggling and why he is not in the US. He said, "No, all good with him. He's having a week away with his family while they are away, then joining team training when they are back."

I hope that's the case. I think he will be important if he's fit. UTV.

FWIW - my mate does run TMA and speaks to Ty on a fairly regularly basis. He also used to play with Ty's dad (Adie) and is big mates with him - so I do tend to believe him when he says Mings is fit to start the season.

We will see in the next few days based on whether he features in the games in the US.

Bit of an odd time to plan a family holiday during the main pre-season tour, though aware Ollie still off etc

It's bit of a weird pre-season this year with players joining at different times. Small matter of Athletic Bilbao and Borussia Dortmund after the US tour.

It will be the same for many teams, of course.

I’m sure I read that players must have 3 weeks off between coming out of a tournament and going back to work.

Mings was working through June I think on his recovery. Taking a break now would be no bad thing.

Its not like he has a beer gut to get rid of.

These players are monitored to such a degree that the time he joins up with the group will have been worked out ages ago - its just a shame he is not there yet

If he was fit he'd be at pre-season.  There's no logical explanation for him missing it.  Maybe he's getting closer, but he surely must still be rehabbing.

I saw Ty at the drinks machine in the office earlier.  Apparently he’s struggling to get the time off.

I really depends, if he was on an individual fitness plan through the summer when all the other players were taking a break (if for example he was getting close to fitness but they all agreed it would be a bad time to step back) then I can understand the club giving him a week or 2 to get a holiday in, it doesn't mean he isn't fit. If that were the case though I'd expect him to get at least an hour in both of the final friendlies.

Yep and also on a specific severity of the injury. He suffered his injury days after Buendia, yet Emi looked in great shape at the weekend. I reckon we will see Tyrone at the end of pre season but not in serious action until mid September.
