Yeah, not buying any of that, sorry.  If he's not participating in pre-season training, let alone games, there is no way he's close to ready.

He knows the bloke who runs Tyrone's academy, I'd say that is a pretty solid ITK.

You could see from preseason that Unai was trying Torres out at LB so that completely rings true. Obviously will not be the case now as we'll go 3 at the back at times during games yada yada yada.

There’s no way that Kamara goes and Mings doesn’t.

I've looked at all the photos on the site and there is no Kamara.

At the time of the injury, Emery said Kamara would be back "September or October" and I've not seen any revision made to that since. I've always thought Mings would be out for more than a year. Maybe they'll both be back around the same time. Start to worry if either doesn't get a squad number.

I spend months worrying about them disgracing the sleeves then, naively, allow myself to start thinking things might be okay. Then this.

Honestly, this country.

Can't see Torres rampaging up and down the wing, he doesn't have the pace for it.

No, but I could see him doing to sort of job Konsa does on the right when the marauding full-back is on the other side.  That said, with Maatsen coming in, and knowing how important Pau is to our play-it-out-from-the-back style, I simply don't see him playing anything other than in a back 2 or 3.

FWIW - my mate does run TMA and speaks to Ty on a fairly regularly basis. He also used to play with Ty's dad (Adie) and is big mates with him - so I do tend to believe him when he says Mings is fit to start the season.

We will see in the next few days based on whether he features in the games in the US.

I'm far less certain that Torres is anything other than an emergency LB, but the suggestion that Torres was brought in because he can play there and that it allows us to develop our play down the flank from that position is what my mate said.

He added that Guardiola has been known to play four CBs across the back - though I argued that they are typically quicker, and with a lower centre of gravity, than Torres. Maybe we will see three at the back and wing-backs ...

As others have pointed out, we do have more than enough LBs, though I imagine at least two left-sided players will be moved on. UTV

That's the point being made - he didn't travel to the US.

The lack of Mings content is really weird.  I must admit it has me thinking the worst, but I'm hoping Big Nose's mate is right.

Yeah, he'd surely have more chance of starting in America, if he was actually IN America.

Difficult to see with the little windows on planes, but I thought I saw JC in the background, sat on a wing taking some air. UTV.
