I didn't see Archer when I went through them, but he's definitely over there.

That plane holds 76 people, so plenty of people would have been on it that we didn't get pictures of.

If they’re not in the pictures it didn’t happen

I can't see Mings not being photographed if he is there.

He might be flying the plane. He's had plenty of time off to get basic pilot training.

Or doing squats with it on his back, showing off his new bionic knee.

Tyrone was prominent at the end of season awards . I don't think he going anywhere.
It also remains to be seen if Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings will both start.
I think previously there may have been an idea for Pau as left back but I think not so much now with Maatsen and Sammy junior signing and already having Digne and Moreno

I think in future he definitely has an ambassador role at Villa if he wants it . Would be perfect!

Watched the video on the site there of the first few days in the US and there's no sign of Mings at all.

I'm not that surprised really. He might be "fit" in that he's not injured anymore, but not quite back to full training yet, so why bring him all the way out there. If we don't see him at all in preseason, even just at Bodymoor Heath, then I'd worry.

I think it makes signing another centre back a requirement though. Diego Carlos hadn't impressed and is meant to be for sale and there's a question mark over Mings' fitness. That means Pau and Konsa are our only reliable options and it's clear he wants 2 options per position. We could do with replacing Carlos so that we have 3 reliable options and then hope Mings will become an option with more time.

We need another central defender regardless of whether Mings is coming back.  We need two if he isn't going to be up for it or we sell Carlos (who I don't think is reliable enough).

Our best centre backs are Konsa and Torres, but Konsa keeps getting co-opted into the right back position, and it also makes us vulnerable in the air.

Swinkels looked decent in the preseason warmups from what I saw, but I doubt he or Feeney are ready to step up.

Hermoso (rumoured) would presumably be an understudy/rotation for Torres, but we could do with a more physical/aerially dominant right-sided centre back option.

That's Archer, isn't it?

Didn't recognise Carlos for a minute, has he been to Turkey over the summer? Good bit thicker looking on top.

Well they’ve posted the official squad for the US tour and Mings isn’t on it.

Perhaps he is being left in the UK to continue his rehabilitation, but he has spent a lot of time in the USA and away from his family, so giving him some more time here in UK is what's Ben decided .
He gets to stay with his family, staying in the UK rather than all the travelling around USA .

And then he is involved again after the tour. I know that other clubs have occasionally left players out on tours to allow them to rest and recover. Hopefully a case of not being rushed back into things.

He might have another pilot exam if the rumours are true.

Who's in the middle and on the right of the group photo?
