Maguire must have something on Southgate.

His own club were picking their short, fat left back over him at centre half

I’m assuming with another game on Monday he’s likely to use the squad to spread the load. I mean Gareth’s not one to just pick his favourites.

England will win this by a street and any mistakes Slabhead makes will be overlooked in the media wankfest that follows.

Picking Maguire every fucking time is a dereliction of duty.  What an absolute bellend Southgate is.

Bizarre selections again. Are Maguire & Henderson really essential for a game with Malta?

Imagine being Tyrone Mings, one week you’re being coached by Unai Emery and the next week it’s Gareth Southgate.

Haha! You should tweet that to Mings, see if you get a barely-cryptic emoji response.

Maguire probably needed a run out, the amount he’s been sat on the bench.

Yes, he's trying to get them back into form. It's his duty as national manager to use England games  for underperforming club players to regain their confidence.

Is the fraud in charge so "conservative" with his style of play that he has to place a fucking defender in the number 10 role?

Alexander-Arnold is best suited as a RWB.

His stats are incredible there.

The move to push him to a more offensive central role, for club & country, has not improved his goal contribution numbers.

It was a strange experiment, but it has failed.

Play him at RWB & if you are not satisfied with the defensive side of his game, drop him for another RWB.

Thats what happened with Grealish when he was at Villa.

He wasn't picked because Southgate is a bit of a fraud & managerial frauds always wants every player on the field to be defensive minded first & foremost.

When Grealish wasn't, he dropped him.

The same should apply to the likes of Alexander-Arnold if he isn't doing his job properly.

Not promote him to a more advanced role.

We should have picked & played the likes of Eze in the number 10 role against Malta in an experimental young team, because if one believes the 1001 contradictory excuses Southgate uses to pick his favourites, he did point out that some of the youngsters aren't quite ready, so the quality of Malta should be the perfect place to test a few out & get them ready if they are to be called on for any reason when we face better quality opposition.
