I'm very pleased too.  Seems like Emery is more convinced than a lot of our fans.

Aston Villa is delighted to announce Tyrone Mings has signed a new contract with the club.

The defender is closing in on 150 appearances in claret and blue having initially joined on loan in 2019.

Mings helped Villa clinch promotion to the Premier League at the end of his first season before signing permanently for the club.

He has gone on to become a mainstay at the heart of defence for Villa and has been capped by England on the international stage.

This is fantastic.  Clearly he has the intelligence to learn and improve under Emery. I bet Mings can speak a bit of Spainish. Classly guy and classy player. Fully deserves the pay rise and extension as is a great assest on and off field and credit to him.

Maybe this is why he didn't play against Man City due to contract issue. Now its resolved he'll be back in against Arsenal
There's also maybe an issue with Carlos?
But its clear Mings is very much part of the team and rightly so.
You can see he's developing his game and adapating and really trying to follow Emery instructions as well as being an ambassador and the right character to have in and out the pitch.

Mings can only get better.

The correct English is "is" though, it's a singular entity.

But anyway, what awesome news, a true leader.  Let's hope he's fit for tomorrow!
