Gosh, we missed him today.
Think Martinez really depends on him, I hope he’s back soon.

Agree Lou, you can see how important he is when he isn’t in the team.

Chambers did ok, but is what he is, a back up player.

When fit, Mings and Diego Carlos will be the two first choice CB's.

Yes I think so, too, I hope Carlos returns soon, as well.

Injured, I think.

From the Beeb:

On Tyrone Mings' absence: "Hopefully he will be back. He had a small injury and didn't train this week but hopefully for the next week he is going to get better and I am thinking maybe he will play on Saturday. If not, we have another centre-back like Calum Chambers and we have to believe in every player."

We have to believe in every player. There it is. Howdja  like them apples?

One thing Mings does now and again is puts his foot on the ball and slows it down before passing it. We could have done with that in that first half.

With jam on them.

Jam tomorrow, bread and marge today. Deferred gratification.

Did OK? I thought he had a nightmare (and I’ve always previously thought he had something to offer).

He's not comfortable playing as the left centre half, especially with the focus of playing out from the back.

Wasn't Tyrone seen on the training pitch on Friday doing a pre-superbowl thing?

Good time for Mings to push for a new deal? Tends to happen a few times a season when he's unavailable and we get bullied in our box like at Bournemouth.

So what’s that now, 11 games since we’ve been back up playing without him and a record of W1 D2 L8. Now obviously correlation isn’t causation but we don’t look anywhere near as good without him. Konsa just isn’t as good as him and I don’t think either are as good as Carlos from what I saw pre him arriving at Villa.

I’m really intrigued as to what Emery and the club will do this summer. 1 year left on the contract and will they sell or think he’ll get better playing with Diego on the principle better players lift those around them?

Personally I’d like Tyrone to stay, I think he can get better and other than McGinn he’s the only link back to promotion though obviously that’s a heart over head issue.

I wouldn't be against Konsa moving on in the summer. He just hasn't progressed at all. Maybe a team playing a low defensive line he would get his form back. Mings is what he is, limited in certain ways obviously but a solid PL defender in the main. No guarantee Carlos will come back to top form after a very serious injury either.
