Yep do the same against Chris Wood and questions needs asking. I’m still fucked about how easy it was for the player crossing the ball could
virtually pick their spot and make it difficult for whoever the Centre back was. Van Dijk would have struggled with that scenario.

What's so hard about jumping?

Depends where your centre of gravity is? He got done by Lukaku and his positioning was all wrong to try and challenge. However, its hardly crime of the century. You'd think the way some are going on here he was solely at fault for all our ills yesterday and we'd been gubbed by some non League team. Hes just been mugged by arguably one of the 3 best strikers in world football.

I’d say it’s was a collective of things in why we lost and not the fault of Mings or Cash. We was generally second best for the second half and that’s what cost us. As well as Mings and Cash at one end we made the wrong choices in the first half to capitalise on some of our excellent play.

Harry McGuire who cost £80M and Gary Neville has stated is having an absolute mare of a season. John stones cost £48M is prone to performing an absolute ricket in any game. There are no guarantees if you spend big.

There’s a massive dirth of quality centre backs right throughout the league
especially ball playing ones with good control who can play out from the back, which is surprising as everyone is trying to play that way

The cross was so good and Lukaku is so totally awesome that jumping for the ball would have been totally futile, so Tyrone did the right thing by not wasting any energy and allowing the striker to score what would have been inevitable anyway.
It was gods will.

Whisper it quietly but McGrath & Laursen made plenty of mistakes also in their careers, it happens.

For me Mings has been excellent since Gerrard came in, he seems to be judged on a different scrutiny scale than Konsa….whether that is because he is an England player or because he is a huge personality or because he had an iffy period before Dean left I don’t know.  I think he is still well worth his place in England squad because of what he does right but you would hope to see different coaches do more with him.

Against Chelsea I don’t know if he didn’t realise Lukaku was there until too late or whether he thought he could use his body to make Lukaku miss the header….guess only he knows.

Whole back five need to do better vs Brentford….hopefully Hause does his usual one off starting performance

Lukaku was practically in line with the front post when he headed the ball. If Mings had bothered his arse even competing with Lukaku, he blocks the header across goal at a worst. Mings took a chance by letting Lukaku having a free run and header, got deservedly punished. Lukaku rattled Mings physically from the first minute he came in. Mings couldn't handle it and went to pot. There a video nasty of Mings second half efforts doing the rounds online.

He's a player I expect SG to move on in due course.

I’m not convinced he’s as bad as the press he gets. Seems a sad reminder of happier days seeing the thread title so perhaps if that’s how most people feel it should be changed.

Mings had a very good first half, continuing a run of good form over the last few months, but then had a shaky 45 minutes against the champions league winners after they brought on one of the best centre forwards in the world.

He has had some very good games since SG arrived, but he does have a tendency to make glaring errors and lose the plot occasionally.
He was poor in the second half and having watched the Lukaku header again this morning it is inexplicable why he decided not to make an attempt to challenge the player.
