Yep, he was the main culprit and captain to boot. Takes no thought, no imagination to just bang it up the pitch where inevitably the opposition win the ball and so our midfield is under immediate pressure. It's not just Mings though, most of the players were already planning their week off the way they played.

Mings is really good at communicating and organising but I suspect we'll only be able to go so far with him as a regular. We'll need to find someone who does the things that he does well but is also better at distributing from the back rather than playing Collins-esque Hoofball.

Watkins was a decent out ball for him last season spinning into the left channel...when he led the line by himself. Mings gets notions about his ball playing ability from time to time...something playing in a three doesn't help with.

I'd imagine 16 were hoofs down the line for Ollie to chase lost causes.

Idiotic from our Captain today.

Time wasting when we were playing good football.

A really infuriating player. Sometimes I think he went into the wrong sport.

He is a liability.   Pure and simple.  Hause is head and shoulders better.

He was garbage today.

He needs to get some composure….

We need him to be calm and commanding.

Not all over the place….

Needs dropping. Put Konsa and Hause together in a back four please.

He needs dropping, but Smith doesn't have the cahunas to do it - Konsa and Hause are the CBs in form and should be our first choice partnership.

What does it say to the other CBs, if Mings (and arguably Axel) can put in a performance like that and know confidently that they'll still be the first name on the next teamsheet.

I thought he was excellent for half an hour today, a recovery tackle and a block after the free kick fuck up, plus composed distribution.

Then he went totally off the rails, and had an absolute shocker. Error prone, nervous on the ball, woeful sliced clearances, boring challenges, drifting up front. Really weird, and abysmal.

I would say he had a weak spell come second half but on the whole was competent.

Made some poor choices and lost composure in swiping clearances but did a lot of good.
Solid defender and no more error prone than Maguire or Stones but a far better role model than both of them

He made errors, but let’s face he was comfortable until the subs. It was bad game management from the sidelines that lost this game.
