He was awesome yesterday I'm so pleased for him.

Agreed. Imperious in the air too.

This is the Mings that should be present every week.  He looked so assured, you could hardly believe it was the same player from the Chelsea game.

It's interesting that Mings was frequently criticised on here until he went to the Euros. Then, suddenly, he was a great defender who deserved his place ahead of Harry McGuire. Now he's shit again. Apparently.

I find the criticism of Tyrone Mings completely over the top. He's a class player and bounced back with style this week.

The interesting bit is whether Axel sometimes looks a little flat-footed: the balls played into Lukaku (resulting in a goal) and Rondon seemed to catch out our loanee.

I'll be honest I don't think he's especially good. Better strikers than Rondon and Gray would gave taken at least one of those chances. I'm glad he can't play against Man U because I think the movement of the likes of Ronaldo and Fernandes would have been far too much for him.

Don't think pace is the issue with Tuanzebe...got back fine on Lukaku before selling himself badly...didn't inspire confidence on Saturday though. Up against a clearly flagging Rondon I would have expected Tuanzebe to push forward as another midfielder in the second half but he didnt. Gray mugged him at one point near the sideline too, think he was booked for it or should have been. He would have been the first player off for me on Saturday.

Also Konsa doesn't look as assured on the right of the three...no idea where he went for their chance in first half where Mings had to come across to Gray. Rondon should have got on the end of that cross. No issue with playing three at the back at times but despite the scoreline it didn't work effectively against a very limited Everton team.

Exactly what I thought too....I had to watch the game on Sky (self isolating!) and my immediate response was "Where's Konsa?"
Looking at highlights I still couldn't see him....no doubt watching it "live" and getting the full picture he would have been observed doing something appropriately positive!

I didn't mention pace.
My point was that he is either slightly out of position or on his back foot at times when he needs to be very much on his front foot. Both of the occasions I referred to were when an oppo MF played a very good pass into their striker.

Wondering how Tyrone Mings will deal with Ronaldo
I recall he put the frighteners on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and was more than a little physical vs Man Utd Bournemouth.  I think Zlatan missed a penalty all because of the battle which Mings won I felt

I can see a little something coming Ronaldos way. Even with the leinacy in officiating this season I just hope the reducers and rough stuff isn't over done both for honour of football and Mike Dean refs.

Mings I love the guy but please don't get into anything silly.
I still felt he played into Zaha hands when sent off vs Palace and perhaps it's more Bruno Fernandes and his behaviour that Mings has not to get overly involved with too.

Apparently gave the ball away 17 times.

That was the main differnce between us and them yesterday. We had most of the team with a pass completion percentage in the 60s, whereas they were in the 80s. Mings was one of the worst culprits, constantly just banging the ball up front and giving it back to them.

Mings distribution was woeful. Not surprised at that stat. Too many aimless long punts almost universally from him. Right foot for standing on only.
