Reluctant as I am to make excuses for millionaire athletes but it may be a factor that Tyrone has come through the Covid ravaged 19/20 season, that condensed 20/21 season with the short autumn turnaround and was with the England squad until mid July this year.

He could be one of a number of players to keep an eye on re burnout. Luiz being the other main one with Brazil's schedule last summer.

If he's iffy again next time out, there might be a strong argument to rest him. Let's see.

I would add TM was also injured with a broken rib and played on and then was given the time to recover with both Villa and England

Mings is a class act in my eyes and has the occasional lack of focus but is very self aware and honest to admit these things and is the first to hold his hand up when he doesn't perform so well.

I suspect being the man and player Tyrone is he'll have a heck of  match vs Arsenal in a way to prove the doubters but also his own character after attitude to be better than his last game.
He openly says he speaks with a therapist so he'll be looking at all aspects both on and off field in how things are going including behaviour, performances and mindsets.

Mings generally in my eyes is very classy and assured on the ball.
It's frustrating he can make those poor passes,  errors and laspses but I would think he well aware of these faults and would always look to do his best to improve

I back him 100% and as captain would not consider dropping him at this time

Genuine question here, how was he at fault for any of the goals yesterday? Was it his sliced clearance that led to the first one? I couldn't tell who it was live and I certainly won't be watching again. He was getting pelters from blokes behind me for second but again I'm not sure what he did wrong? McGinn gave the ball away in midfield and I think there was a defensive header Watkins missed so not sure what it was to do with Mings.

It's his regular losing of focus and concentration that really alarms me. I never feel confident that he isn't about to do something ridiculous.

That hoofed slice into the sky under no pressure in the second half was just mind-boggling. It was as though he had decided he was bored of football.

He needs to work on his mental approach and psychology because it's too often miles off.

With broken ribs you get a numbing injection which lasts about a week. Sure if I had one 3 weeks ago on he nhs a professional sportsman would have one

Exact fault for the goal does not matter as much as the disorganisation and helter skelter defending that we  descended into for the last 15 minutes and injury time. Mings was mostly responsible for that and also made number of individual errors through poor anticipation and lack of professional judgement. To start with being booked for time wasting at 60th minute, and the ref was absolutely correct to book him, is pathetic. It sent a terrible message to his teammates. After that he proceeded to keep being caught out of position on several occasions resulting in disrupting the team shape and causing general confusion. Top that with several mis hits and desperate lunges. This is not what we and his team mates expect from out team captain. He really is not very good. Lot of vacuous presentation and not much substance.

As much as I love the guy for his performances getting us up I certainly think it’s an idea to give Tuenzebe back to Man Utd and spend money on a really top level up and coming defender who can play either side and will put Mings under real pressure for his place.

Ollie Watkins was the player who sliced a clearance straight to a Wolves player and the disappointing this he had loads of time and could have got the ball under control. As others have said it was generally pantomime defending for last 10 minutes with no particular blame to Mings more of a collective brain fart. Axel got it all wrong for their second goal and again Watkins had a great chance to head it away or at least make it difficult for the Wolves player but he did neither. The arrival of Ings seems have affected Watkins game badly. It's as if he doesn't seem to know where he fits in. Dean has to make some difficult decisions.

Are you honestly trying to pretend that I had a decent game yesterday then

Forget the stats on who was to blame here and there he was simply just poor with his control and his distribution
I like him as a defender but he lacks in technical ability he should do what Konsa does and just defend and do the simple things rather than trying to be something he isn’t

Him and Tuanzabe was a disaster today.

Controversial, but I'd much rather have Coady in my backline than Mings.  Always impressed me

Was thinking yesterday, that if we intend to continue with three at the back on the long term, then I would consider a bid for Coady.
