West Ham signed a CB 12 months ago (forget his name) for £20m. He’s had one good season in the PL and is now valued at £60-80m. Yes, it’s all crazy money but this could turn out to be a great investment.

Mad state of affairs, isn't it, when being unable to immediately call to mind the name of a player worth a supposed £80m elicits nothing more than a shrug.

Misread that link as "turns down Aston Villa" and had a mild panic attack.

I will await the pictures live from Witton station of him getting off the train in last seasons full kit, before I get excited

I was hoping that they would tie it into the new kit launch and have him get off a train at new street in the full new kit.

Great to have him back, if he can stay clear of injury I can only see him getting better and better and becoming integral in the development of a new Villa.

Had an underperforming, mid table championship side not taken a chance on an injury prone and somewhat unproven player in January, there may not have had an ambitious premier league side in any position to pay £20m for a known quantity, popular with fans and players six months later.

Wow, that looked just like a negative reality inversion.

He's taking his time isn't he? If he's not here by tea time, I can't see it happening.
