We sold Benteke for £32m and that was back in 2015.  We all thought we had mugged Liverpool off which turned out to be true.  Other teams fans and Boremouth in particular are always going to make out it’s a great deal for them.  It’s the way things are.

It is a great deal for Bournemouth.  A fucking sensational one for their 4th choice injury prone centre back.  But I love him and hopefully it will turn out to be a sensational deal for us too.

If Leicester are asking £80M for Maguire and might get £70M if Man Utd are that desperate then we have a real bargain in Mings.
He could well have the left sided England central defenders place instead of Maguire by the end of the season.  I believe he will prove to be that good.

the proof will be in the pudding

all those thinking we've paid a bit to much for him and those thinking we have bagged ourselves a bargain will find out who's right over the next season or so

for me if we have paid 20-25m for him today and we were offered 35m for him tomorrow without kicking a ball i'd still tell them to fuck off
he is our Van Dijk he transformed us at the back last season, and like i said we'll find out soon enough if we've paid to much but i think he's a prem player all day long and will prove to be so in the coming seasons for us

According to sky £20m upfront which could rise to £25 with add ons. Happy with that.

£18m and loads of bits bolted on. More than we agreed at the start of the summer but so be it.

What happened - did they agree a deal then pull out of it once they realised how much we wanted him?

Transfer fees basically represent the value of the player to the club.

If Mings was our player last year I imagine that we wouldn't entertain selling him for 20 million, judging by just how important he was.

Other clubs may mock, because to them he doesn't represent that value. It's the selling clubs prerogative now and I imagine this is why we are balking at the fees quoted for the likes of Butland because they don't represent that value to us

Maybe a few other clubs sniffing around has pushed the price up?

Good info last week. How is the progress on further additions?

£20 million for Mings. And around £5 million extra to build a beach for his missus behind the Mailbox.

West Ham signed a CB 12 months ago (forget his name) for £20m. He’s had one good season in the PL and is now valued at £60-80m. Yes, it’s all crazy money but this could turn out to be a great investment.
