We've know for months that Ake was likely to be sold so nothing new into the mix there.

Talk sport reporting that Man City are lining up a bid for Nathan Ake. If it's true that could wreck our plans to sign Mings. First bit of bad news we've had for a while. Hopefully it's just talk sport talking shite again.

Not if he puts in a transfer request.

They don't have to accept it just like us with Benteke a while back. Difference is we were desperate to keep him another year while Bournemouth don't seem arsed about Mings. The Ake to City connection could force Bournemouth to rethink. I think the club will have a back up plan in the event we don't get Mings but i would dearly love to see him in the claret & blue next season.

One decent looking journalist on Twitter saying it’s all but done.

Who is that then - for us none twitter people

Of course he's coming to us. It's just one of those things that will happen, it'll all get ironed out and there's no rush.

Yep, looks fake. Can't find any trace anywhere of a Mirror journalist named Henry Armstrong.

Can't see this happening now. Time to move on to other options. We need players in now that pre-season has started and a US tour next week. Window closes on 8th August.

The start of pre season is all about fitness levels so whether he's doing it here or in Bournemouth I don't think matters too much. Im confident he'll be here by the time of Charlton, Leipzig etc.

You can't see it happening, because we still have between tomorrow 5th July and the 8th August when the window closes, which is around 5 weeks?

Not sure that adds up really?

I’m zen about this. He’s better than 50/50 I’d say, any complications are to do with the onward chain but he’s a player we want, who wants to be here, and that’s more than half the battle.

But you know what, if it doesn’t work out we’ll buy another good player.

My opinion. If I'm wrong then ok. Am I not entitled to an opinion??

I didn't say that you weren't. With 5 weeks remaining there's still a shit-tonne of time for it to still happen, isn't there?

Of course you are, but when you choose to share it other people are entitled to disagree and ask you to clarify you're reasoning. For now it's my opinion that anyone who is nervous about this expected it to happen within a weke or 2 of the final and has got themselves all worked up because that didn't happen and is now fearing the worse. For me I still think it's unlikely the season will kick off with Mings wearing anything but a Villa shirt.

A player walking around Bournemouth station in his full Villa strip three days after Wembley not coming to Villa?  I think not.
