Baker comes across as very likeable.

He does.  I like the look of Fisher as well, seems to have a bit of pace and variation.

460 odd to win in a day and a half, they are probably safe to get a bunch of tee times booked for about 3.3.30 tomorrow….200 short is my guess

Botham should be thankful that he played in an era when there was no mobile phones or social media.

I'm sure I read a story on here years ago about him administering a portion to a woman in front of a packed pub or something equally fucked up.

It takes effort to be as shit as we are at times given our resources.

About to beaten by a huge margin by a more skilful, well drilled and focused side.

Embarrassing from our lot. The last 6 months has been awful and this should be the end of McCullum’s tenure.

What can you say other than at least they took it to 5th day. £25 was the ticket price almost worth it at a £ a minute.

Duckett is an old fashion Club cricketer. He clubs it if he can see it but world class bowlers are a different kettle of fish.

Time to fully reset at the end of this series, the fact that Stokes played up so we needed a stand in skipper and had to go back to Root because none of the others have the discipline to take the helm is frankly embarrassing.

Key & McCullum have to be close to the door….open the damn thing and push them both through it…if the bouncers can leave one on Key even better :-)

Need a proper coach in who imposes a bit of discipline in both play and off field behaviour…anyone who doesn’t buy into it because they are bigger than behaving as professional athletes can eff off and play pyjama cricket…Root and Stokes (when his head is on) are still the only ones you would guarantee picking if they are at it.  Brook would be another but the fact he was overlooked for captain suggests he is still an absolute child.

It’s a bad result, but not really unexpected given the circumstances. I wouldn’t be running to any rash decisions, for a start the series is far from over.

Absolutely after the series but that is the time to get them gone whilst the nonsense tournament is taking up the good weather….bit there is an underlying problem that has to be lanced now as they aren’t learning from it

Like I said a week ago, England are going backwards.  I like the fact that they brought in players to have a look at them, but way too many at once and this test was never going to be won having had the issues leading up to it.  The whole English games needs looking at.  Gay and Fisher looks like good players and have a decent future, I hope.

An Aussie fan said bazball is great fun but predicted the implosion would leave an absolute mess. They’re existed off of “vibes” for three or four years now so the normal yardsticks of preparation, fitness, tactics are almost forgotten.

But you’re kind of contradicting yourself, the point around us never winning this game given the lead up doesn’t really mesh with the game going backwards. A number of circumstances, some self inflicted some not, meant we had 5 changes - 4 of which almost certainly wouldn’t have happened had things being normal. In other words it was a bit of a freak situation and we’ll probably look very different next Test. There’s lots of promise in Cox, Rew, Baker etc. But you wouldn’t want to be introducing them altogether. Also NZ are a good side. I get it’s frustrating but I don’t think it’s quite the disaster it’s being made out to be.
