I know the comms are saying par is around 450 odd so we're doing well here but I still have so little faith that we're going to do any better with the bat. They've completely ruined my confidence.

I reckon Carey has retained the Ashes for them.

They probably mean par for Australia on this pitch would be 450. That would probably be enough for them to win by an innings.

If Jacks is spinning it on the first day Nathan Lyon will have a feast on day 2 and 3.

Oh for a proper spin bowler in this England side. Afraid Jacks is not the answer, although as Jim Maxwell said, he can bat a bit.

In the game, but have to finish them quick and then do what we haven’t done all tour and bat long.

Looks like Carey got a life with a snicko fail. Not ideal.

After all the stick they gave Broad for not walking, seems the Aussies are cheating bastards. Who’d have thought it?!

As sure as sand follows paper the Aussies play the margins which are as narrow as Johnny Bairstow’s crease.

Hmm .... sounds far from ideal, particularly the bit "The decision review system (DRS) technology, which is mandatory in matches played in the World Test Championship, is provided by the host TV broadcaster of the home team.  In this instance, the host broadcaster is Fox, which uses BBG to provide Snicko. Fox has opted not to comment".

There have long been questions raised in rugby where home broadcasters decide on which angles of replays to show the the video ref.

I don’t think it’s cheating, but I think the Aussie’s hypocrisy on it is ridiculous.

As an aside, I like Carey - good player and seems like a good bloke.

The bowling has been too wayward - Jof aside, who’s excellent. They need to get it spot on in the morning. Famous last words but Aus look well short of par to me. England haven’t shown we can get near par yet, but they’ll never have a better chance.

Average first innings score at Adelaide this season 240. Average second innings score 370.

The dismissals do suggest batsmen getting themselves out but let’s see both sides bat as always before determining the pitch!

Yeah that’s true, but Test pitches should be “better”. We’ll see I guess, but there was a bit of swing with the new ball and a bit of turn, but it should be best to bat on tomorrow. If we get blown away we’re done.
