I went yesterday and had a cracking day, that morning session was something else, I don’t think I’ve seen a century before lunch since the Glenn Turner Worcester days.

Harry Brook played a blinder supporting Jamie Smith, but India were really steaming in with the 2nd new ball, carrying a threat that England don’t seem to have with this line up.

Jofra Archer was looking good warming up over the tea break, shame we can’t sub him in.

I suspect Bashir would keep his place no matter how poor his performance
I'd definitely have Dawson in for Bashir too but they won't drop Bashir.

So you keep saying that but tell us why do you think "they" won't drop him?

Because to drop him would be to admit that they've got his continued selection wrong. Look at Crawley who averages 30 as a test opener over a long period of time. They refuse to drop him too.

Dropped twice this morning which is not good. Woakes chance was difficult but Crawley...FFS.

Crawley didn’t look like he got his feet right.  Think the woakes one is a bit harsh to call it a drop

England are going to need to show they’ve grown up. They aren’t winning this, the only hope is a draw. We need to dig in.

Zero chance of England digging in. They go for whatever target is set.

This is all a bit strange from Jadeja and India at the moment

Yep. Its been brilliant from Gill. Very poor bowling attack? Absolutely. Very flat pitch? Yes.

Still got to score them though and he's been chanceless

Gill continuing to bat is making it slightly easier for England to pull off a draw here.

This is odd from India now. Purposely taking time out the game when you are practically 550 ahead is so negative.

In fairness they've deduced that England aren't sensible enough to play for a draw, but still, how many do you need
