In spite of Brook and Smith’s brilliance we’ve conspired to absolutely nail that on as India’s day. I hope if this continues on its current path we demonstrate a bit more maturity when it comes to saving the game.

Also I like Carse, but an opening bowler he isn’t.

I turned off just before the woakes wicket to go shopping, I'm very disappointed with the tail there, we should've had 450+ and to leave smith hanging in the 180s is a shame as his knock deserved a double ton.

From there I'm not really sure what the plan is for India now, they've come out swinging and I don't know if that's a good call or not, I guess it depends if we can get any more wickets.

I'm not sure it was necessarily the plan for India to come out swinging. They just took advantage of some piss poor bowling from Woakes and Carse.

It should be embarrassing for them the way India have bowled with the new ball (without Bumrah) compared to how they have in this test

I think he is more suited to bowling overseas than in English conditions in general.

Hopefully Potts, Archer and Atkinson in for Woakes, Carse and Tongue for Lords. I'd definitely have Dawson in for Bashir too but they won't drop Bashir.

Also changing your entire bowling line-up after a bad game is pretty extreme. They need to rotate a bit, but let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.

They bowled poorly at Headingley too. The Indian tail having 3 number 11s and India throwing wickets away in both innings flattered our bowlers somewhat there.

The Indian bowlers (without Bumrah) have embarrassed Woakes and Carse with their comparative new ball performances this match. I'd have fitness concerns over them even if they hadn't bowled so poorly.

I suspect Atkinson and Archer will be the changes. I'd only play Woakes if the pitch is left with plenty of grass and/or there is overcast conditions forecast.

I suspect Bashir would keep his place no matter how poor his performance but Dawson would offer much more with ball, bat and in the field.

Windies showing fight to try and get close to making this a one innings game.

Lovely start from the Windies with the ball. Nice to see pitches in the Windies that encourage a bit of fast bowling.

6 ducks and 407 runs.
Surely that’s a record?

Crazy scorecard. Real disappointment the tail disintegrated like that, doesn't seem like that's happened for a while.

Still, I'll try not to be as misanthropic as taylorsworkrate. Not much of a challenge

If they bowl India out with a 500 lead by tea, I wouldn’t right us off

Agree. He's a first change bowler at international level.

They seem to have an attack at all costs approach when it comes to the bowling side of things.  With small boundaries and the outfields as quick as they are, they seem content to concede a lot of boundaries.
