Pretty crushing day today. Just looking at the players India didn't bring on tour is pretty scary, too.

In fairness India have been here a little while and played a lot, so they’ve prepared well.

And they are a far better side than us, if we're being honest.

I think its a bit early to say that,  There clearly very good.  But, we made a mistake putting them into bat.

Our attack has been off - and very good players like Woakes just werent at there best.  Its understandable - I think today will be our worst day of the whole series.

Woakes struggles as the lead bowler. I love him, but he's not a spearhead bowler.

Pretty desperate stuff so far from England. Putting these into bat first was a mistake and our bowlers are being batted around for a laugh.

Surprised England have chosen to bowl after winning the toss, could be a long hard slog in the heat today.

The stats show that, at Headingley, if you win the toss you bowl first. There have been a lot of successful 4th innings run chases there.

Yep, historically it's a ground where the pitch flattens out and becomes easier to play.

Looks pretty flat now, the pitch and England.

Good come back from Tongue there.

It’s a big score, but they were on for 600.

Massive test now for England’s batsmen in tricky conditions against the best bowler in the world.

Bumrah strikes again.

He was always going to get a few, he's not the number 1 bowler in the world for nothing.

Overall this attack is comparatively weak compared to what India have had for the last decade or so with only Jadeja joining Bumrah as an established world class option and Siraj as an established international. We therefore need to target Krishna and Thakur to make them expensive options so the main 3 have to take the brunt of the load.
