212 all out, it will be interesting to see how the Saffers do with the bat.

63-9 in the evening session, as a South African-biased neutral it was an enjoyable day of proper cricket.

The only bit of the match I've seen was the end of the Aus innings and start of SA innings. Fair to say bowlers on top.

I know it's easier said than done but, in praise of Bazball, the South African tortoise like scoring pace did them no favours.

I think it's partly due to the rules. Five full days, with a reserve day to make up lost time, and if it's a draw they share the trophy. So not much of an incentive to smash it around. I agree with the lost time rule, but sharing trophies is shit. If it's a draw they should both get fuck all, IMO. Maybe relegate them both.

As much as I love to see the Crims struggle, you just know that come the first Ashes test in November they will be 550-2

Topsy-turvey match, this. At least it shouldn't be a draw, whatever happens.

I'm wondering how many times we'll get 200 across the series. I'll be optimistic and say twice.

South Africa taking it away from themselves by chucking that one on the floor. Morning crucial, if South Africa get the Aussies out cheaply don't self-destruct in the morning they've a great chance. If Australia are still batting or have taken four wickets by lunch, forget it.

Enthralling cricket either way, great to see bowlers properly in the game, not like that 20 over nonsense.
