I see Fernandes has been named player of the season today... for what ?  The dozen or so games Carrick has been manager 🙄

He was probably the only player doing it under Amorim consistently and had 5 goals and 7 assists during his time. It was his injury in that first half against us that led to the loss to us and the draws against Wolves and Leeds and ultimately the tin tack. But even if you took only his form in the second half under Fletcher and Carrick, 13 assists in 15 games would win someone the award even for half the season. He is a twat of a player, but a very talented twat unfortunately and hopefully this is his Salah season for them.

Talking of which, I've just been looking at the West Brom fan forum. They don't seem to have invented mobile phones, yet.

If it's anything like the SHA place, I'd love it.

There's nothing I enjoy more than wondering where the fuck I am and how a post about a steak and kidney pie from a chippy in Yardley has somehow garnered 300 anti-Villa responses.

I don’t care about the best Scot to play in the Premier League, he’s probably the best Scot to play for the Villa and there’s some stiff competition from Cropley, Evans, McNaught and Bremner. Lift the trophy in a couple of weeks and his Villa legend status is confirmed, a Holte End deity.

Archie Hunter?

Correct. Thank you for putting the record straight.

This has sent me down a Google rabbit hole, and discovering some lovely extracts from Triumphs of the Football Field.

I said to my kids,
the way I talk about McGrath and Gary Shaw when you’re my age you’ll talk the same way about John McGinn

Wise comment, John. We'd have been lost without him. Amazing player, the heart and soul of this team.

The Portuguese commentators refer to him now as 'the King of Scotland'. They got rather excited with his goal tonight.
