Its hard to find the words really, to describe what he is to us. It had to be him that sealed it for us last night, it just had to be. I thought his legs were going a bit on 60 odd minutes, but he finds a way. He has to lift the trophy for us, just has to.

Just watching back the goals now, what were Forest doing when they switched Williams to right back? Was Hutchinson meant to be left back? Nobody near McGinn for the two goals.

Running out of words to say about this man, but he is my favorite player of all time because he will lay it all on the line for this club and delivers when it matters most. He deserves a trophy, and I pray they make it happen in Istanbul.

They went three at the back. When they made those changes I knew they were flailing, we'd exploit it, and it was over.

They went three at the back the previous two games at our place and it didn't work in those either.

I said when they made those changes at the back that it was an interesting decision.
By which I meant probably suicidal.

That kind of move is risky during a game in any circumstances, I doubt there's a team out there more conditioned to force and then exploit it than us.

Running out of words to say about this man, but he is my favorite player of all time because he will lay it all on the line for this club and delivers when it matters most. He deserves a trophy, and I pray they make it happen in Istanbul.

Absolutely. Outside of Villa he's so underrated yet every team in the Premier League from Arsenal to Burnley need a John McGinn. He's that important but fortunately we're blessed to have him.

I think he's underrated in the media but if you read other fans there's so many that say they'd love him in their team.

1 more goal for double figures in all competitions this season. That would be a first for his career - still improving at 31.

It's not just his use of the body but his appreciation of space. He'll turn left, right or even backwards but always into space.

He's just brilliant.

Just remembered that drag backheel move he did near the dugouts when it was still 0-0 that just opened the whole pitch up .

Yeah, while perusing other forums quite a lot of fans say they don't like him but they pretty much all say they'd love him in their team. If a player is more-or-less universally rated, can they still be "underrated"?

"Every team needs a player of John McGinn’s character. Captain, leader, made from girders. Gives everything, covers, presses, creates, scores. And clearly loves what he does." https://x.com/henrywinter/status/2052492921824305197

Defo my experience. A little bit like Yorke in that respect - media didn't know how good hew was when with us.
