Another top performance from SJM.  He’s fucking ace and we’re lucky to have him.

Amen. We're a better team with him on the pitch.

I thought Bournemouth's press was very well drilled, John is worth his weight in gold in situations like that when we can go long to him and he just hold the ball up, he was good as he was against Newcastle a few years ago in the same scenario. Fuck knows how their left back didn't get another well deserved yellow for the dangerous tackle from behind on him.

Well done John.

The way he sets himself up to receive the ball centrally is a sight to behold. Get marker nice and close, dig in, arse at 45 degrees, discreet handful of marker’s shirt, ready! Carried it off 4 or 5 times yesterday.

Lovely feature from the Athletic on him. I'm starting to think he's actually underrated somehow.

He is, because he's generally not specatcular in what he does, but rather than being 10/10 one week, and 6 or 7/10 another, he's consistently an 8 or 9/10 and goes under the radar.

Apart from his brilliance as a footballer, I love the way he treats his mascots!
