I was thinking this. He's been my favourite player by some distance almost since he arrived and, although I know he's popular, I think people are so used to him getting on with the job that his true worth is sometimes overlooked. He's so ace that, if he were a domesticated animal, he'd be a cat.

No, Kamara is the cool cat. John would be yampy but lovable spaniel.

I'd say Kamara is more of a Golden Retriever.

Setting the example for the whole team, week after week. Yup, he's approaching Legend status, just needs to lift a trophy and none would be more deserving than SJM.

I notice he really seems to irritate fans of opposing teams when we play them, usually the sign of a very good player.

We've got the Spaniel, Super Yampy Spaniel. (SYS for short)

I genuinely have a cocker spaniel called John Meatball McGinn.

Without him, who knows what we'd do. Dragging us out of the bad times almost single-handedly.

He's a great captain.

Doesn't score enough goals though.

I've noticed this too - thing is SJM isn't a dirty player, that I can see anyway. He just gets stuck in but he has a good pass and a good shot too. He seems to have this rep as a clogger. Maybe if he was called McGinho he'd get more respect.

He's not dirty but he does sometimes commit fouls that are just silly, including the one he got booked for yesterday. I don't think it's malicious but I can see why People who only see him a couple of times a year and on highlights might get the wrong impression.

He's a good player, and other supporters know it. Plus he's the one that gives us some bite (see also Mings. T.) and supporters can easily get pissed off with them.
